History of the Congregational Church of Nokomis:
Welcome to the Congregational Church has its roots back to the Pilgrims in the early 1600’s. The people who made up these congregations were fleeing England because of religious persecution. Their struggle has left us with a spiritual heritage that frames our Congregational Way, that is to say our belief that;
Jesus Christ alone is the head of the Church (Body of Christ)
The Bible is the Holy Spirit inspired Word of God and is fully sufficient as our guide in all matters of faith and practice
The Congregational Church of Nokomis is autonomous and complete
The Congregational Church of Nokomis is complete and has every power necessary for its spiritual function
We fellowship with other believers in Christ and Christian Churches as equals in Christian love, being like-minded, of one sprit and purpose as the early Churches lived together
The Congregational Church of Nokomis was founded in 1977 by Kenneth McCay
